the map is laminated (waterproof) and gives you the major tourist areas. I’d like to see these stick out more from the background because I needed to search for them. I like to find them without a tourist guide. Luckily I know Bangkok. If I didn’t know Bangkok would be harder to find the tourist spots. It’s a good map and maybe the best on Bangkok but still room for improvement. I looked it over for a few hours.

I admit I originally purchased this product as a “filler” to get my purchase to the $25 free shipping level. However, it has proved to be indispensible in the planning of our trip.
The map is very clear and easy to read despite the wealth of material it contains. Similar ‘tourist’ maps I’ve used (such as MapEasy products) are great for planning but not practical for carrying around at your destination. This one is just the right size….big enough to show the entire city, but small enough to shove in a waist pouch…..and laminated so you don’t have to worry about screwing it up.
I was so impressed I immediately returned and purchased Groovy Maps for Chiang Mai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.
Aaron, if you would be so kind….please produce Cairo by May and Tokyo by September this year; that would be most helpful!!

I have been to Bangkok many times over the past 10 years, sometimes for business and sometimes just for a fun getaway. I still find the Groovy Map is the best of all of the various city guides on offer. Its pretty sufficient for a trip to the city with short lists / small reviews that cover dining, bars and shopping places (markets, malls and all those areas are covered). There’s a section for spas (which I particularly like). My friends who haven’t been to Bangkok always get a kick out of it as its a unique guide/map with a viewpoint into the city that’s authentic (written by a fellow who has lived there all his life).
