PM opens 2nd Thai-Malaysia Friendship Bridge
Thai Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont and his Malaysian counterpart opened the 2nd Thai-Malaysia Friendship Bridge on Friday morning.
Gen. Surayud and Malaysia’s Abdullah Ahmad Badawi jointly presided at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Thai-Malaysia Friendship Bridge, connecting Narathiwat’s Waeng district and Malaysia’s Kalantan.
Many senior officials and people from the two countries were present at the opening ceremony.
Construction of the bridge, valued at over Bt90 million, was funded by the two countries and is part of cooperation under the project “Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle” (IMT-GT).
The 120-metre bridge is also a tangible token of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
